Pricing Guide
Each tattoo session will vary greatly, these prices are rough estimates to help clients plan and budget for their tattoos. I’ve included a couple of options below for ways to help you budget for your tattoo. Please note that if major alterations have been made to the design at the appointment, any estimates given prior to the alteration may no longer be accurate.
I price my work by the piece, taking into account the size, style, placement, and level of detail to help me determine how long I think the piece will take me to complete. Appointments up to 3 hours of tattoo time will be priced as a half day, ranging $250-$400 for flash pieces and $350-$500 for custom work. Appointments taking 4-6 hours of tattooing time will be considered a full day, and will be priced at $500-$750 for flash or $600-$850.
My minimum is $200 for custom work or $150 for flash from my book.
The pricing minimum applies only to very small, simple designs. If you are looking for even smaller and more simple designs, I would recommend getting multiple in one session.
Deposits are $50 for flash or $100 for custom work. The deposit will be deducted from the total cost, and will always be applied to the final session if multiple sessions are required.
I am currently looking to put more large scale work in my portfolio, and am offering discounted day rates on these projects. The largest scale project I currently feel comfortable working on is roughly the size of a quarter sleeve or one large panel of skin. Pieces of this scale will be completed in at least 2-3 sessions but may need more depending on the design. Work on this scale will have a day rate of $500 per session for custom work or $400 per session for flash pieces.
Tipping
Tips are never required, but are always greatly appreciated! I pay a percentage commission to the studio I work from to cover the space and basic supplies, and am responsible for stocking much of my supplies as well as paying for insurance, equipment costs, administrative costs, taxes, and licensing fees, all before I can pay myself for my labor.
If you enjoyed your experience with me and/or love the tattoo(s) you received, it is customary to tip as you would with other personal services. Anywhere from 15%-25% is considered standard, but any tips (including non monetary ones) are always appreciated! Some of my favorite non monetary tips to receive include vegetarian snacks, plants, and iced oat milk hazelnut lattes (;
Budgets
Tattoos are a luxury item, but you deserve to treat yourself! If you are working on a tight budget the following are a few ways you can stretch your dollars when getting tattooed.
One way to do so is to split your piece into multiple shorter sessions to make multiple smaller payments rather than one lump sum at a longer appointment. This can be done by doing linework one day and shading and color in separate sessions, and this will ultimately heal better for larger pieces anyways.
Flash pieces are always a cheaper option as well, since I don’t need to incorporate additional drawing time into the tattoo pricing. In the past I have also modified existing flash pieces to accommodate clients whose budgets would not allow for full custom work. This is a good option if you see something in my flash that you like but want to make a few changes to the design.
Generally full color has to be priced higher to account for the additional supplies I use and the additional tattooing time it takes. Getting an accent color is a good option for someone who wants color work but doesn’t have a full color budget.
Torso placements will also be priced higher to account for the additional physical stress it puts my body through, so arm and leg placements will be a cheaper option.
I offer an opt in sliding scale pricing option for trans, QTBIPOC, disabled and neurodivergent clients. If you are interested in taking advantage of sliding scale pricing, please see my sliding scale guide.
I can only provide a limited number of sliding scale appointments per month, so if you can afford to pay my normal rate please leave these appointments available to those who would otherwise be unable to get tattooed.
